Last Memorial Day weekend the PLIA Board introduced a new event, a Bullhead Fishing Tournament!…

President’s Message
This year we added a few events that, combined with our existing schedule, have provided our community with many lasting memories. New for the 2018 schedule were two bullhead tournaments and a highway cleanup.
Our second Oktoberfest was held September 22nd with The Quarry Road Band providing the entertainment. Mark your calendar for next year and be sure to enjoy our traditional dinner which is served at the event. Mike Paikowski prepares Schnitzel, red cabbage, specialty bratwurst, and other traditional cuisine that sells out quickly!
As always, we expect another large turnout for our annual Ice Fishing Jamboree which will be held Saturday, February 16th. The recent addition of windows to our pavilion has provided a comfy wind break for attendees. This year the Jamboree will be chaired by Mike Paikowski with help from PLIA staff and volunteers.
So far we have been fortunate to have had adequate funding to incrementally improve and maintain our facility by funds acquired through membership dues, events, donations, grants, and meat raffles. For next year, we have budgeted and signed a contract to ensure Fireworks on Upper Post Friday, July 5, 2019. Because fireworks have been our largest expense since we received the grant to stock fish from 2015-2019, we are hopeful to continue budgeting fireworks past 2019.
Thank you for your continued support and donations. wish a prosperous and happy new year to all.
Steve Downey, PL/A President
